A Timeless Tradition, Ringing Again at Local Jones
There is a little-known story from Denver’s early days about a bell at an old trading post that rang as people came and went. Over time, that sound became a shared signal across the city. A reminder that it was time to pause, gather, and enjoy one another’s company.
Inspired by this tradition, Halcyon has installed a historic bell just outside our front doors, bringing that familiar sound and feeling to our corner of Cherry Creek.
The bell will now ring each afternoon to mark the shift from workday to evening. A simple moment that signals it is time to slow down, raise a glass, and settle into the night ahead.
Guests are invited to join us for social hour at Local Jones or simply enjoy the sound as it carries through the neighborhood. It is our way of honoring Denver’s past while creating a shared ritual for today.
